Conclave 2024
How to put it into words… I like how this film made me feel. It brought up deeper issues than it seemed at first, and delivering meaningful messages that really struck me. There were moments that left me stunned and surprised, but THEE final minutes is THEE plot twist of all.

Nobody Knows 2004
Another heartbreaking film from the genius Kore-eda. For my personal taste, each movie of his feels so real, until I wonder did I just witness from a scene roll or through a real window. I truly adore Akira in this one (without discrediting the other kids—they’re all fantastic). You can feel every bit of his unspoken sadness and strength in that age, and in some way, it’s easy to relate to him. The film is slow, quiet, and mundane, which makes it hit even harder. Definitely worth if you enjoy emotional, straight outta real life stories.

Fallen Angels 1995
What a cinema. This is visually stunning and I think we all agree that every shot taken were beautiful, cinematography on point. My first Wong’s masterpiece and apparently his unique storytelling required me to feel more than understanding, capturing moments of loneliness and longing. The film doesn’t tie up every storyline in a neat way made me confused at first, yet I think that’s the point—it’s reflecting the messy, incomplete nature of human connections.
