What a film. So impeccably directed and shot. One of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. This film is so anxiety inducing yet also tragically romantic without feeling unfocused. Only a master could balance all those tones. Jane Fonda was simply outstanding as well as Donald Sutherland with whom their chemistry made the film feel vibrant.

    Truly excellent filmmaking on display

Only Scorsese could make a movie in the 70s that feels true to this day. Travis Bickle, an archetype that becomes more common just goes to show how Scorsese and Schrader were ahead of their time. Travis's disillusionment and self-hate manifesting into his projected hate for women and minorities feels like something we see more and more of everyday. A truly chilling cautionary tale.

Scorsese and De niro at their best leads to a film that is one of the best ever made

This movie means a lot to me and I could really give an argument to the fact that this is the best film ever made. Like ever.

Perfectly directed, acted and written with the most iconic film score ever created, this is a perfect film.

I just love this movie so much

an incredibly emotional journey into the life of a tortured artist fueled by a fantastic Adrien Brody and an accomplished level of direction by Brady Corbet made for a really good film. I was worried about the runtime but you truly don't feel it at all.

one word comes to mind when describing this film like so many others have pointed out: Ambitious. It is truly bold piece of filmmaking that deftly portrays the dark side of the american dream…
