  I was caught off guard by how terrible this was.

  There’s hardly anything believable in this movie. This is like if I tried writing sci-fi when I was 17. I haven’t read Wells’ book but there’s no way it’s this idiotic, right?

  Were you disappointed and underwhelmed with 1917? This is your movie. 

  With the German bourgeoisie beating the war drums once again by capitulating to American geopolitical interests, drastically ramping up military expenditures, and preparing for war with Russia for the third fucking time in a century, this film is pretty damn timely. AND FRIGHTENING. 
  I couldn’t help feeling a sense of nausea throughout the film knowing in the back of my mind that the prospect of imperialist world war is…

  The Batman 2022

  Watching this got me to understand a bit more why the Dark Knight Trilogy never really worked for me (aside from my ironic love of TDKR). This is a better (best?) Batman but the story ends in a strange spot, where Batman is both so close and yet so far from learning his lesson. Whatever sequel this film gets, and wherever this Batman’s character arc leads, will ultimately determine whether my feelings with this film will sweeten or sour over time.
