I’m a fan of this kind of home invasion/survival horror movie, but this was just a disappointment. Frank Grillo might not deserve a lot, but he deserves better than this, he really gave it his all.

Effects are solid, but set pieces are hit or miss, and it really does feel just like a bad, slapdash, werewolf version of a “The Purge” film. And what was that ending? I’d still watch a sequel, but I’d hope they’d have the balls to flesh it out a bit more next time.

Really sad that there most likely won’t be a sequel to this. Leon is horribly misrepresented, and the actress they chose for Jill is horrendous, but this is a much better tribute to the games than the last series was. We had a great time, and I wish there was more to come. Really don’t understand the hate. It’s stupid but.. I mean have you guys played the games? You can’t really get much more stupid than Resident Evil.

I thought this was a more well-realized vision than Possessor personally, glad to see BCrone growing. This reminded me a lot of those sensual 90’s thrillers like Fatal Attraction or Basic Instinct, but turned up to 11 and given a near lethal dose of hallucinogens. It’s a fun, disturbing ride, and the entire cast turns in great performances, although I though portions of Mia Goth’s were cringey instead of menacing. She’s just not quite there yet a lot of the time, especially towards the end when she becomes less alluring and more “threatening.” Nowhere near the levels of her Pearl performance.
