This is difficult to rate because at any given moment this movie is either five stars or no stars at all and there is no in between lol. Every star I gave this movie was for the awesome stunts and the action and the pure physicality Jackie Chan is capable of. The rest kinda belongs on a cutting room floor.

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
Was thinking a lot about this movie today and somehow only just realized that I never logged it. Started with my oldest friend and a near-empty theatre on the close of my 26th birthday, ended with a metaphorical googly eye in the center of my forehead. This film genuinely helped me begin to build a new worldview in the intensely existential wake of deconstructing old beliefs. Such a masterwork.

What a force of a film. Everything felt so volatile. I watched nearly everything collapse in on itself, from the politics, to the characters, to the factions, to the city, to power itself. Tetsuo's story is so tragically ironic and so painful to watch. Half a star fallen for neither of the female characters being fleshed out or given enough agency; that's something I mentally and emotionally can't see past in any film rn. But man. I'm honestly not sure I could ever watch it again. I'll be thinking about it for days.
