Like Crash, Videodrome also explores our natural human craving for stimulation and wanting more.
One thing I noticed was that there’s so many scenes with clutter, dirt, and chaos that all lend to the feeling of uneasiness and paranoid anxiety - paranoia being a running theme in this and many other of Cronenberg’s films.
Hallucinations mixing with reality, frequently occur in his films too. I really enjoy these parts.
The use of music and sound stood out to me here…

Easily going to be one of the most divisive big films in a long time.
Visuals, set design, and costume design probably second to none that I’ve seen in a long time. The camerawork and the cameras themselves used were incredible.
It was surprisingly a really funny film, helped by a great script. Mark Ruffalo is so so good in this. Emma Stone her usual scene stealing self.
Not enough to cover off a few flaws I seen with it…
