Till We Meet Again on the Lily Hill 2023
Even weirder premise than the pancreas eating movie. It’s a subtle examination of WW2-era Japan and the people who lived it. It’s fairly candid about the ingrained nationalism that was instilled in people at the time.
One thing I thought was interesting was how characters that you don’t rly think seem inclined towards war+death might still “congratulate” the kamikaze pilots; it could be out of sincerity or out of peer pressure. Or maybe, I think some don’t want to discomfort…
