for a movie criticized for being apolitical I thought it pretty clearly had a political message of "the current way americans engage with politics is fucking stupid and will lead to nothing good." which is legitimate imo. some of the goofier reviews could even be considered evidence.
great, intense war picture.
Sometimes films can make you feel seen. Other times they can make you feel Too Seen. For me, BEAU IS AFRAID falls firmly into the latter group.

tom selleck (mustache) plays a cop who is scared of heights. also he only arrests rogue household appliances. gene simmons (kiss) is a black market microchip dealer. he commands an army of robot spiders and has a gun that shoots video guided missiles which, thankfully for tom selleck, are wildly inaccurate. selleck eventually overcomes his fear of heights.
