Loved the original film, although some of the lines were stiff. "I'm a war criminal, I could never love" lmao. Anyway despite some of the emotional scenes feeling forced and not-real-things-people-would-say, was the worst part of this movie. Everything else from the set, the sound, the landscapes, the machinery, the ships and plants and space travel ohhhh my god its SO GOOD. I will keep watching this film because I love it.

    Directors cut is much better.

Can't wait to see part two!

Why is this film in the Criterion Collection?

The one star is for how pathetic and realistic Sam Lowry is. He (Other than Tuttle) is the best part of this film. He absolutely killed his role as the man child he is meant to play.

Are you a rich white kid who has an Oedipus complex? (Are you in love your mother?) You'll like this film.

Want to be upset and uncomfortable at every single room the characters walk in? You'll like this film.

I have learned nothing besides men have fantasies I don't like, and don't care to watch. I hate this film.

I’m so smitten with Vera the writer/director! Her movie visually sends you through a comedian in Gotham transitioning and will have you laughing and whooping. The movie parodies Batman and mainstream comedy in a jarringly tasteful manner. Yet at the same time it’s kind, and is serious when it needs to be.
