‘See that’s just not the way to go here, Karen…’
Clooney at his very best.

My suburban-midwestern sensibility needed this shock to the system.
Really funny and tense. Some nuanced commentary about class and social hierarchy, but without any ‘woe is me’ energy from Ani.
Electric performance from Mikey Madison as Anora.
Some stylized editing and sequences that I really liked, and Karren Karagulian’s performance was an unexpected comedic treat.

‘Zola’ or ‘Good Time’ would be solid double-feature options.

My god. That was the best editing I’ve seen in a movie, maybe ever. Simultaneously chaotic and coherent. Genuinely funny in ways I wasn’t expecting. Ke Huy Quan needs to be holding an Oscar in March. All the actors in the movie deserve praise for their performances.
Made me miss my family - in a good way.
Powerful stuff. Recommend to everyone.
Decent story, but ultimately pretty mid. Lowkey can’t believe how good of an actor Nnamdi Asomugha was tho. Half way through I was like wait is that Nnamdi??? A marquee acquisition of Andy Reid’s 2011 Eagles “dream-team.” 🤣
But forreal - he was pretty solid in this. Chastain is a fantastic actress. Never liked Eddie Redmayne and this movie isn’t moving that needle at all.
Typical Netflix movie- it’ll probably get a ton of views because they put it on…
