Another viewing experience at the parents’ house.

More boring lionization of WWII. I just can’t get into these stories anymore. They all play out the same way and hit all the same beats.

Only saw episodes 7 and 8, but nothing about those episodes did anything for me.

    *Update

Saw the last episode shortly after the original review. The gall to use the Nietzsche “abyss stares back” quote to try and add profundity to this crap. Let’s take the most…

Forced to watch this while visiting parents.

Plain, dull, boring-ass movie. Lifeless and yet another film that puts all of its eggs in the basket of being about the ‘Greatest Generation’.

This is Boomercore to the max and it’s just unbearable. It’s exhausting seeing movies like this; time-after-time, we’re expected to give a shit about the narrative and characters just because it takes place during or around WWII when it’s the most boring derivative shit imaginable. The day stuff like this stops being made can’t come soon enough.

    Sucks eggs.

I guess it depends on whether you’re willing to allow ‘director intent’ outweigh the overall quality of the film or not. I personally prefer my films to be tightly crafted machines first; thematics and writing shouldn’t be an excuse for…
