this was genuinely peak watching. literally the edge of my seat.
I’m taking half a star off bc there were things that i didnt quite put together and i felt like they were just not explained. Theres reasoning behind it but the gravity of what it was still left questions. (im tryna make this spoiler free).

    chilling and cold moments throughout.
The dichotomy between evil and good. the internal struggle between understanding and conforming to the two.

Still thinking about this one, so glad this was my first david lynch film. excited to see eraserhead now

it was cheesy but they earned it. I feel like every choice that they make throughout their vacation makes sense in a way. I just wish this vacatiom lasted longer, they didnt deserve for it to get cut off so soon :/

Sure theres some movie magic and unrealistic shit, but it fits the genre so well. It really was so enjoyable to watch and it was such an important film to be made in the 90s.

watching this brought me back to when i was able to watch movies without thinking like a film student. just purely entertaining to watch, not worrying about no bs ‘character development!!!’ ‘dynamics!!’ ‘structure!!!!’
fuck the deep analysis, its something i always called a bittersweet feeling about majoring in art. I don’t know why but this movie was just so entertaining for me.
i honestly dont even know why i gained this level of connection. I was just smiling everytime and thinking ‘yeah this is just such an exciting moment let me just live in it without trying to think reasons to criticize it.’
