Interesting to see this iteration after only being familiar with Burton's movie. The music is much more operatic here, which I didn't quite expect. My only other point of reference for Sondheim's work is Into the Woods, specifically the 1991 recording, so it is interesting to see the difference there... but I can see commonalities, too.

I hate it when my family gets into another argument on the rotating platform. They're always doing this.
Incredible to take something as long as the first episode, condense it in a way that is still incredibly effective and hits all the right beats, conveys the characters well, has excellent choreography, does everything the VN does right AND make it work in the medium of stage with appropriate adjustments and additions. They translated it so incredibly well.
I cannot begin to imagine how demanding it is to pull this off as well as they have.
