This movie doesn't waste a minute. The lead performance is very strong, the cinematography is beautiful, the final shot is memorable, and the actions of the characters are believable. Despite an incredibly weak performance from one of the supporting players, this little horror movie does so much with so little but I'm very excited to see what this director does next.

Who's the villain here? The gunslinger who willingly steps back into the cycle of violence? The lawman who can't build a protective edifice, either figuratively or literally, no matter how hard he plants a kick? The kid, for idolizing a past that never was and creating his own legend that doesn't hold up? The viewer, for loving the vigilante hero but never grappling with the aftermath of the hail of bullets?

There are no easy answers in this movie, only a set of memorable performances and surprisingly fleshed out characters against some incredible scenic backdrops.

Faithful to the source material, creative, funny, full of likable characters and good kills. It keeps things moving at a great clip, and doesn't slow down at the wrong times. I have a few bones to pick but overall this is a worthy addition to this year's crop of horror.

This review sold me and the movie did not disappoint. 90 minutes of ridiculous nonsense, poorly executed but never dull.
