My Old Ass 2024
Why as a 38 year old man do these coming of age movies always wreck me? God damn you Chad.

Hold the Dark 2018
Jeremy Saulnier's latest violent epic 'Hold the Dark' is absolutely among my favorites of the year. The film stars Jeffrey Wright as a wolf expert called to northern Alaska by a mother (Riley Keough) whose son is taken into the wilderness by a pack of wolves. When her husband (Alexander Skarsgard) returns home from the Iraq War, well, things get even darker from there. Stunning cinematography, great performances all around, and even a bit of mysticism thrown in for good measure, this may be Saulnier's best work to date.
