The Monkey 2025
They needed to cut back on the jokes by 50%. The best jokes were great, like the real estate agent and Elijah Wood, but many were so dumb. There’s a great movie in here somewhere.
As it stands, every moment of solid horror or emotional sincerity was immediately undercut by a joke. The movie seemed afraid to even attempt to take the horror or plot seriously, which makes me wonder what the point was.
They also spoiled the ending of Severance by revealing Mark S is going to end up with The Monkey

Every single character is a complete lunatic, including JGL, but he was just too smooth with it for me to not throw respect his way. A true trailblazer
