    Dunkirk

    ★★★★½

This war epic directed by Christopher Nolan I think might be his most underrated film. It’s a highly regarded, critically acclaimed, Oscar-nominated film, and that still isn’t enough praise. I’m sure ‘Dunkirk’ is put on a list of top war films ever. ‘Dunkirk’ is the opposite of any of Nolan‘s films except for one common denominator; time. It may be Nolan’s signature story mode, but that is all that is a trademark of a usual Nolan film. ‘Dunkirk’ is a…

    Dune: Part Two

    ★★★★½

Moments before ‘Dune: Part Two’ came out, the film was recognized as one of the best sci-fi films ever. The expectations and hype for this were about as big as possible. For me, it’s pretty damn close to those expectations that were set upon finally seeing “Dune: Part Two’. I would say, though, that we were using the wrong term. This timeless Sci-Fi/Horror is a must watch for anyone who calls themselves a film fan. Actually, this film should be required viewing for anyone who hasn’t seen it. Released in 1979, it still as a film looks better than most space movies today. I’m sure after this much time passing already, “Alien” will continue to look amazing compared to anything released in the future as well.

The story, the landscape of the large ship, the performances, and the style and…

    Drive

    ★★★½

A man of few words, excellent driving skills, and shockingly violent tendencies. Ryan Gosling stars as Driver in the 2011 indie hit ‘Drive.’ Gosling flashes his baby blues, reserves his speaking voice, and goes with a different acting approach for a character he wouldn’t usually portray when this was released. Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, this was a breakout hit for him as the visuals, colors, and lighting are essentially characters in the film.
