  Grade B Disney, but it was the first film I took my son - age 4 - to see in a theater. And we had fun. So it gets an extra star for good memories. Plus I had already made a Frasier fan out of him, and Niles was in the cast. ❤️

  Patty inhabits this character so convincingly, so astoundingly. A role both intellectually and physically challenging - and she was just a child! I'm not sure you could call this "acting". It's something else...And I reliably cry at the ending. Every. Single. Time.

  Transcends the usual slick Shyer/Meyer rom-com paradigm. This is actually a '40s Howard Hawks comedy in disguise, with Keaton turning in one of her best ever screen performances in Jean Arthur-mode. Even the quintessential '80s score (is that Kenny G. on sax?) can't ruin this warm & fuzzy flick, that lacks the slickness usually endemic to this genre.
