Killing time befor the Confidence Man concert tonight.

The movie has good atmosphere (graffiti alleys in dead parts of town, abandoned factories lit like Niagara Falls haunted houses). It is creepy, the production team that worked on it had some creepy characters on it too that add lore. It’s fine for what it is.

Ted Raimi is a catch 22. On one hand, he can only act goofy so he’s miscast. On the other hand, he has amazing screen presence thus enhancing the viewing.

I liked a lot of the choices here, the tableaux, the slow motion sequences, the minimalist setting. Yet something felt plain. I thought it was kind of boring. It was alright, the soundtrack definitely gives it a higher score.

This would’ve been so much better if it was made in the 70s

Movies just aren’t this funny anymore. So extremely offensive, everything about this film is in bad taste, and it’s hilarious!

    Where Is the Friend's House?

This was really good. At times it felt like an absurdist play, the amount of repetition and inattentiveness. I also had the feeling of running through villages in Zelda games. It was very unique.

I thought Ahmadpour was actually a bad kid, he disobeys everybody the entire film but given his situation his family and villagers don’t help him much. I really liked the last 5 minutes; the storm scene was romantic and sublime, and the way it ended was very clever, it totally threw me off in a good way.
