This film showcases exactly why people enjoy film & going to the cinema. Yes it overstays it welcome a bit and (for me) had a slow start (aside from the opening sequence), but man this is just objectively a good film. Great acting is an understatement, Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones give a masterclass here. There is one sequence when they are driving home and they are both genuinely so good, it’s unreal.

The film is beautiful to look at, maybe…

I expected this to be way worse. This film contains some crazy moments and is just a wild concept overall. Nicole Kidman is super desperate and Harris Dickinson doesn’t give any fucks, this dynamic feels really off in my opinion. The pacing throws you off as well and Harris Dickinson’s character just makes no sense whatsoever, wdym you see your CEO once and you know she is the most desperate, kinky person in your office, crazy. Baffling how this film played out but it is kind of entertaining, if the characters were just thought out more it would have been so much better.

I genuinely do not know where to start, there is so much to love. This movie is such a good period piece and the performances, especially Willem Dafoe, Bill Skarsgard and Lily Rose-Depp, are insane. The film opens with one of my favorite sequences in the whole movie as the use of light and shadows in this scene are beautiful. The whole movie uses lighting, shadow, grain and darkness to perfection and I truly think that Eggers is one of…

Insanely funny, clever and goofy. The film uses everything it has to entertain you, the performances, set design, directing, script, etc. Everything is made to entertain.

The social commentary, while really fucking good, was a bit over the top in my opinion. The film does utilize it’s allegories really well and the Trump slander will never not be funny.

I don’t have a lot of words for this, but it’s good. Insanely different from Parasite but still insanely enjoyable and…
