  The actors really showed up! I loved Robert Pattinson's embodiment of the Mickey. Bong Joon-ho masterfully handles some key moments of comedic tension and the audience got a good kick, myself included.

  Despite that this movie is a hot pile of garbage. You can tell the movie execs fucked it up. I've read the book, it already kinda sucks, so I'm not sure why I somehow expected anyone to save it.

  Happy to support vozes brasileiras especially with such wide scale award wins but this is a snoozefest. Despite that, very important to display the worst of the dictatorship, because it seems so many people have forgotten it. The Rio scenes are very effective and dreamy 🙂

  Acting was pretty bad, but I forgive, for it was clearly a low budge effort. Personally I loved the premise, I just wish they pulled me in closer so I could feel more of a punch! It lacked polish but you can tell it was a really, really smart script dripping with commentary, so nuanced!

  Just came back from Japan and I'm so fucking depressed that I decided to watch the film the got me interested in ever going there in the first place when I was only 17 years old (over 10 years ago). It was a weird full circle moment in my life, a closure that made me quite emotional tonight.
