  Ticket to Heaven 1981

  Very interesting Canadian production based on a true story of someone who got caught up in the Moonies cult. Roger Ebert had high praise for it at release (he saw it three times in theater), but now it’s largely forgotten and can only be seen on a crappy YouTube upload. Saul Rubinek, Meg Foster and Nick Mancuso are all excellent in it.

  First time watching since I saw it on VHS (long unavailable). It’s crazy to me that an action/sci-fi title like this barely made a ripple in theaters, and was quickly forgotten. Though Liotta does great work, the movie’s biggest weapon is Stuart Wilson as Marek (the villain) who gives a performance that steals every scene he’s in.
