If all directors had a spirit animal, Wes Anderson’s would be a Russian-stacking doll, because this feels like ten Wes Anderson’s circle jerked onto a concrete canvass and called it art.
On a serious note, that was an overstatement, it was a fun movie to watch, but not sure it was much more than that. Every minute of it felt classically Andersonian. The near utopian symmetrical compositions, sweet-shop colors, granular design, and straight-faced quips built into an overall embellished dialogue…
