  1990 but feels so 80s. Wacky, weird, funny and surprising violent. RIP Fred Ward, who wins the movie in more ways than one, and to George Armitage, who I’ve just found out died last month.

  With a seemingly constant nagging score reminiscent of Blade Runner or Tenet, this is a pressure cooker eco heist movie with an independent spirit that makes you want to neck bourbon along with Dwayne in that mad bar.

  Awesome Robocop-inspired, low budget sci-fi with bonus body horror, which pays off in every one of its 100 minutes. Obviously, Logan Marshall-Green is a total star and pulls off the remote control of STEM with aplomb. Fantastic production design throughout. Bad-ass ending.

  *Upgrading this another 1/2 star due to the incredible ingenuity they squeezed out for just $3 million.
