Couched in blood, hilarious stunts, and the unpredictability of reality tv is a story about how love and family will get you through. Heartwarming, funny, and scarily real.
Rewatching Casper as an adult made me realize a few things about myself:
This movie sparked my interest in the paranormal.
This movie sparked my interest in psychotherapy.
This movie sparked my interest in having invisible friends to drink and sing karaoke with at the local watering hole.
This movie sparked my interest in falling in love with blonde-haired blue-eyed boys, despite their cheesy, borderline creepy pick up lines.
What more could a girl ask for?
👌🏽💕👻
Love the score, the kill scenes (my personal favorite is the dark room discovery of the funk dancehall vampire photo sans-vampire👌🏽), and the hairy, ashen vampire transformations are a pretty close second to the prosthetic magic of the Buffy-verse (the complete opposite of the beautiful glittery vamps of Twilight). Blacula is thoroughly entertaining and full of commentary that’ll make you think twice about whether this blood lusting killer is actually a hero; a vampire with (a) soul.
