  Saw Criterion post a clip from this movie (the opening train sequence where the scarf flies over his face) and had to watch it, I was sold. Didn't disappoint! It's a familiar story with some familiar tropes but I also think there's a lot of style in the direction, some really raw performances, with plenty of memorable scenes (like both of the scenes in the bathroom holy shit, the romantic train scenes, & more) and images that make this really good.…

  I liked the movie but I wish it went a little deeper on some of it's characters, it kind of feels like everyone stays at the level of being just a type of guy you would encounter in a rec sports league.
