  Sloppy and obvious, but it won me over by the end. Pattinson is excellent from start to finish and has unquestionably cemented himself as one of the best working actors today. Ruffalo’s Trump-adjacent buffoon leader role is great, and Naomi Ackie also shines. Whole supporting cast shimmers with bright spots, Collette and Yeun specifically.

  If Parasite is about the horrors of capitalism, this is about the absurdity of it. And if they sell plushes of the little pillbug guys I’ll take ten.

  Early on in the film, Pádraic asks his sister Siobhan how the book she’s reading is. She responds that it’s sad, and Pádraic muses that she should read a book that isn’t sad next. 

  I think, next, I’ll see a movie that isn’t sad.

  Brilliant Irish folk tale on life and purpose. A return to form for McDonagh after Billboards.
