Every Mike Leigh film could have this same title. He always rings out the truth so beautifully, with so much playfulness and care for characters and moments. He takes his time and it always pays off. The whole cast are perfect but Tuwaine Barrett stole the show for me. Happiness for Moses!

Better Man 2024
Michael Gracey must REALLY love Robbie Williams because he directed the hell out of this. A lot of incredible set pieces and the flow within and between scenes is seamless. Great to see scale and sensibility so well married together. The world’s gonna implode when the Robbie Williams biopic wins Best Picture.

My Dad gave me a collection of DVDs of his all time favourite films, and he also wrote a little bit on each DVD. This is what he wrote about Frederico Fellini's '8 1/2'.
The most 'personal' film I've seen - where the role of the director as an artist was central. A disjointed free-flow of ideas which, as Scorsese said, follows the process of creativity - focusing on film-making within a corporation. The struggle towards creation is right.
