A technical marvel for 1989. How the hell Cameron pulled this together and made it look like a 2000s film is incredible. Four stars for the atmosphere, tension, effects and cast alone.

With that being said, the pacing was probably the slowest of his filmography. Some scenes were excellent though. To be fair, this was the almost-3 hour special edition. This would be 3.5 stars if he didn’t make up for it elsewhere.

I can always acknowledge Wes Anderson’s films as objectively well made, even if the style usually isn’t for me.

This is an exception though, his style is still here, but it just works for me. Was fun and the coming-of-age romance was sweet.

Richly engrossing, sweepingly beautiful yet oh so minimalist in its production to just touch the right notes. Sometimes there isn’t some grand explanation to everything. Sometimes it boils down to “I just don’t like you anymore.”

As a Rebels fan, this shit slaps. Been waiting five years for the story to continue and Filoni delivers. Some of the best Star Wars in a good while (aside from Andor, which was on another level), and it actually feels like, well, Star Wars.

That underlying sense of dread in the show’s vibe, knowing the Imperials are still out there, is really well done. Kudos.

Impeccable casting, cool visuals and a perfect score. Kevin Kiner is really cooking on this.
