Of course the jump scares work. Oddity’s Damian McCarthy masterfully re-orchestrates all the tricks and tropes of horror classics to build tension, scare, haunt and tell a great ghost story.
After the terrifying rabbit of predecessor 'Caveat', McCarthy introduces yet another iconic nightmarish figure at the centre of a movie, this time carved out of wood. Carolyn Bracken (playing twins!), Gwiliym Lee, and Caroline Menton bring complex and compelling characters to life. And just when you think you finally figured it out, Oddity still has some surprises in store: Ambiguous moments of horror, humour and heart, where you least expect them to be.
