It's fair to call this Nolan's most ambitious movie yet, although twice the complexity does unfortunately mean double the exposition and half the clarity.

Five million extras in every scene. Three hundred thousand special effects. Six battalions of british soldiers getting their faces eaten by lions. Nine hundred white women participating in a dance-off between two Indian men. And the worst sound mixing I've heard all year. What a film!

End credits floored me, had no idea practically everyone was playing themselves. Makes me want to watch the whole thing again immediately!

Gotta love a movie that feels totally evil. Tons of super creative editing techniques used to disorient the viewer. Although, with nearly every thriller which weaponises ambiguity, there comes a point where it explains just a bit too much and the effect is lost. I think Talk To Me was actually a great recent example of leaving just enough for the audience to piece together themselves. Still, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this remake is probably more pertinent than the original. Maybe I'll watch it to confirm someday!

Not so much a story as a collection of characters spouting unbearably schmaltzy one-liners taken directly from a self-help book. The filmic equivalent of a Live Laugh Love poster.

Why am I so invested in competitive figure-skating
