  Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992

  Already I feel like I didn’t actually watch this but rather dreamt it. Just drifting through inevitable terror like a cloud. 

  Lynch’s method to open up and lay out characters in such vulnerable and intense ways has resulted in career best performances in every film I’ve seen from him (I’ve not seen his Dune) but my god Sheryl Lee and the depiction of Laura Palmer here just brutalised me like no other. I felt like I shouldn’t be seeing these things. 

  As important as the context is story wise the series feels unbelievably distant and comparatively lighthearted. I miss Andy and Lucy.
