A Spider-Man universe can absolutely work and be massively successful, but you absolutely need Spider-Man himself as everything stems from his existence in one way or another. Spidey’s world is a universe itself within the Marvel Universe. Madame Web could’ve done something really cool with the original Terminator inspired plot of protecting unborn Peter Parker, but that gets pushed to being a subplot and an easter egg. This film has nothing else to offer. It’s corporate garbage and i feel bad for the talent involved.
