Certainly, the film didn't blow me away like I had hoped. It's incredibly hard to live up to the high standards set by the first WW film, so WW84 had a daunting task from the get-go.

My initial reaction to the film is that it was earnest, but incredibly haphazard. Like a slide puzzle that is unsolved: all the pieces seem to be there, but in the wrong order, so that you can sort of see the "bigger picture," but it's unrefined and not as enjoyable as it *could* have been with a little more time and patience.

Another solid entry into the horror genre from Jason Blum (via his BlumHouse production company) and director Leigh Whannell. There are a few stumbling blocks of realism that may detract from your overall movie-watching experience if you're a "yeah, but if this happened, then that would happen" type of viewer (as I try hard not to be but fail from time to time).

Overall, the movie is well-crafted. Of particular note are the excellent and highly effective camera shots lingering…
