    Your Name.

    ★★★½

If I woke up in love with some girl, and her name was written on my hand, I simply would not forget it, but maybe I’m built different.

Despite being confusing at times and a bit messy, it still almost had me smiling like some cornball romantic, laying on my belly, kicking my feet in the air, and feeling all whimsical about love… almost.

    Palm Springs

    ★★★★½

Few movies make me laugh as hard as Palm Springs. No other movie uses the time loop concept (trope? genre? existential nightmare?) as perfectly as this one. The world is a terrible place sometimes, but this movie is a great reminder that we all need to find our own Irvine.

On an unrelated note, if you know any pretty girls who want to do mushrooms in the desert, sit around a campfire hallucinating dinosaurs, and fall in love, please put them in contact with me.

I fully intended to write a short, funny review of this movie, but that won’t be possible.

My sister encouraged us to watch Little Women for International Women’s Day (we still celebrate around here), and I’m so glad I did.

I often struggle with period pieces for a few reasons—one being how frustrating it is to see how dismissive people were of women back then. If nothing else, it’s a reminder to never miss a chance to call it out…

I saw Minari for the first time a long time ago, but that was before I was on Letterboxd. So here I am, righting that wrong.

I love Korean people. I can’t help but smile and laugh whenever I watch a movie in Korean and catch glimpses of the culture. It brings me back to my time in New Jersey (long story) as a Mormon missionary (longer story). There’s something so warm, familiar, and wonderful about the way Minari portrays…
