Back to the Marvel well in what is a average film that attempts to instill the feelings of paranoia that Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits, but never reaches. The story is basically an extension of the middle of the road TV Series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier combined with the elements of the near forgotten The Incredible Hulk movie. A typical Top Gun homage that doesn’t stop moving, because if it did there would be so many questions. Nobody is really acting here, just portraying types, the music is standard, the story is barely there, and it makes no sense tho have the Apache in Top Gun like fights.  However it does have an exciting climax and the aerial photography is pretty sharp,  it has a nice slightly unhinged Nicholas Cage performance, a beautiful Sean Young, and Tommy Lee Jones in Fugitive mode so it’s not unwatchable.

Definitely one of the best films of 2024, and while not my favorite of the year, it is in my top 5. I went into this film completely cold and not knowing anything except the long running time, but as is the case for good films, I didn't really notice it while watching the film. It is structured as two sections, with an intermission, and the story is well laid out and the break makes perfect sense within the story.…
