Where the hell have you been Loca?🌲🐺🌲🌕
Thanks for stopping by! Rest awhile.
In the age of social media, video games, and big budget films- Nosferatu forces you to slow down and be despaired (which I eventually understood to be a compliment). At first, I struggled to get through this. My brain was threatening to reset back to default mode. It was almost an act of meditation to remain patient and focused throughout the runtime. It reminded me of being assigned a classic book in school and loathing the first few chapters only…

The Good: The Grey is Liam Neeson's strongest performance. I was moved by the undertones of facing death and life's trials whether they be real wolves or metaphorical "wolves". A unique take on a genre that has become so played out in recent years. Who knew there would be more to say, more to show, and more ways to make us feel for these characters in apocalyptic stories. So many haunting scenes and ideas presented throughout the film. I appreciate the restraint of not hand-feeding us exposition through dialogue. Instead we are trusted to catch the little details on our own. Incredible performances that were highlighted more often during the quiet moments rather than the intense ones.
