The Heartbreak Yakuza felt a bit slow and meandering for my tastes. That said, I did enjoy the cinematography and the hazy 80s aesthetic, which gave the film a lot of visual charm. While there are a few interesting characters, the generic yakuza storyline felt a bit flat and uninspired. At least the climactic yakuza raid delivered a satisfying burst of energy, letting the film end on a high note.
