  in this dystopia where conventions are reversed (outsourcing sentimental letters? AI not only has consciousness but surpasses it?) it’s interesting to me that Samantha’s polyamory was so devastating to joaquin phoenix, even though it wasn’t taking anything from him and from the love she had for him. 
  the desire to be the sole object of someone’s whole world is selfish? i don’t think so…
  i think we should only expect the love we are willing to give- samantha and joaquin phoenix…

  reviewing this movie months after i saw it because i can’t stop thinking about the “you dream in a language i can’t understand” scene because my roommate clara told me i sometimes sleep talk in french. i did think it was too bad that the boyfriend was such a wet blanket but he ate down with that line. his insecurities came from a very real place but it was embarrassing to see him be so open about them. regardless a wonderful and extremely touching movie
