    The actresses were fine, but ultimately Hidden Figures serves as another depiction of liberal ideas of racial equality above liberation. Integration into capitalist institutions is seen as heroic meanwhile the idea of liberation, although made into a caricature distorting any real critique into 'don't try to get an established career as a black person', is laughed off as meaningless. Stories of exploitation via racism is important, but this is truly not one.

    Watched at the Stockholm Cinematheque, Filmhuset

    had the pleasure to stay after the movie ended and listen to the panel of Iranian filmmakers and journalists. this is a wonderful movie about conservatism and discipline, in so many ways I cant describe. highly recommend :)
