The Monkey 2025
I think this was bad bad, but was I also annoyed at the only other people in the theater being 1) a family of four who was 45 min late and dropped all of their popcorn and soda upon sitting down 2) a couple fully hooking up six seats away from me until I purposefully dropped my water bottle into the metal cupholder, which made them feel noticed and they ran out 3) a couple who Theater hopped and only saw the last 15 min
Theo James in glasses is the only reason this gets a full star

A banger through and through.
Some thoughts:
- IMAX screens are the only canvas large enough to capture the majesty of Josh O'Connor's ears, f**t, charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent

Bottoms 2023
Not the instant classic in the teen canon I was expecting, but that’s okay! The whole thing is shaggy and charming, despite the script clearly needing another pass or three. All the characters lack texture, which often isn’t an issue in these types of movies, but grates here when the film decides it’s time To Care about what’s happening. But also. I’m powerless to a climax involving wonton femme brutality, Charli XCX’s Party for You and the camera spinning round…
