    I loved the use of music and lyrics during the different duets with Joan the lyrics fitting their changing relationship dynamics. The song dusty old dust voicing Dylan’s last goodbye to both Woody and folk music. 

    The film doesn’t over-explain important historical events so you have to understand the context but the overall fear of changing times where technology is challenging creative standards, traditions, existential threats is something we can relate to in 2025.

    I think this film left a lot…

    Some costumes were boring and uninspiring. Lots of grey concrete. The elite unstoppable soldiers were a big disappointment. The story felt dated, the whole chosen-one trope just doesn’t work for me anymore.

    Overall Denis knows how to use the medium too convey lots of details in his exposition using only images and sound. Love him for that!
    Seeing it in 3D iMax along side my father still made it a wonderful experience.
