Black Bag 2025
Sexy, riveting, fun. Black Bag is tightly constructed, it's silly, it's dark, it's disturbing, and it's deeply romantic. Despite plotting the globe-trotting intrigue of a group of spies, there's a real stage play quality to the proceedings here. A handful of characters, a variety of motives, and a winding and unwinding web of mystery stringing them all together.
Fassbender and Blanchette are endlessly watchable. Soderbergh does an incredible job of pacing out the story and carefully raising and altering the stakes to make this a blast to watch. Wonderful stuff.

The well defined structure here not only allows this story to span such distance and…

Dune: Part Two 2024
Stunning, marvellous, epic. Dune: Part Two not only continues but escalates the story told in Part One. The scale of our setting has increased, as have the number of players, the agency of our characters, and the stakes. There is most certainly something lost in that transition. One of the great strengths of Part One was Villeneuve's ability to set the scene and framework of our world. Set pieces could be small yet thrilling; the murder hornet and box of…
