Starts off pretty strong with complex, heavy family dynamics and abuse and develops into a christian propaganda film. Fantastic performance from Glenn Close tho

Probably one of the best recent Godzilla movies, as it centers the stories of those most affected by the tragedies of war and the struggles to rebuild. A keen and introspective look into the human spirit faced with tragedy and the need to create a better world for the future. Ultimately, the monster they are fighting is not just Godzilla - it parallels the monster created by the shadows of WWII, imperialism, the all-consuming loss and the human cost, the destruction of nuclear warfare, and the price the people pay for the failures of their governments.
