    Gomorrah

    ★★★

Very well shot but it's pacing didn't help it's cause. I also struggled with connecting to any of its characters

    The Fly

    ★★★★

A testament to The Fly's genius is how it's simultaneously difficult to stomach and difficult to look away from. Nothing like well constructed nightmare fuel

    The Batman

    ★★★★

Batman's actual power is absorbing bullets.

Dark, gritty, thrilling, the Batman's biggest asset is its tribute to noir crime thrillers of time past. This along with it's incredible sound production and cinematography easily makes this one of the most competent "superhero" flicks that I've seen in a while.
I had some doubt going into this, but the mix of actual detective work and emo batman with bangs actually worked.
Matt Reeves, I salute you my good sir.

    Grave of the Fireflies

    ★★★★★

Breathtaking visuals and an intense story of human perseverance and the horrors of war. Grave of fireflies blends animation and emotion seamlessly. It reaches out to you and brings out emotions of joy, hope, and despair. I cried like a bitch.
