    A Real Pain

I know that my pain is unexceptionable so I don’t feel the need to burden everybody with it.

The moment when the tour guide gave Benji a genuine thank you and heartfelt goodbye, then threw the most dismissive thanks to David… I felt that in my bones.

I’m going nowhere you won’t find me

I’ve never felt the need to be a townie til now. I like Anora.

This film is a wild ride and ends with a brutal punch to the gut.

There’s a section in the middle where Ani feels sidelined, and for me the movie dragged there. It picks back up in the end, but I felt its 2h 20m run time and thought it could have been buttoned up a bit. I miss sub 2 hour movies.

That being said, it’s still spectacular and hilarious and moving. I laughed the whole time but left the theatre devastated. Sean Baker, my man.
