Man with a Movie Camera 1929
I'm sure this was incredible to experience in 1929, but it doesn't really move my 2024 self. Some of the technical elements are still amazing (the two slightly-different angles of a chessboard spliced together being my favourite of such shots), but the film itself is too jarring and too nebulous.
The insight into life in 1920's Soviet Union is by far the most interesting part for me, yet the fast pace of the film felt like a distraction from that, instead of enhancing it.
