When I was in ninth grade, I had scoliosis
    surgery.

Due to the trauma, I had to stay home for six weeks recovery. During that time, my film teacher, Robert Banks, recommended a list of 50 movies that I needed to study if I was ever gonna make worthwhile film one day; written in Black sharpie.

However, with a final act so nihilistic and void of hopefulness;…

This one was one foot in & one foot out of ‘lynch land’. It felt like his work but there were definitely some elements (that I can’t really put my finger on) that leads to believe there was a consorted studio drive effort to be a little more conventional than Blue Velvet.

    Still a great atmospheric watch!
