Truly amazing animation, but it feels like the final episode of a show that doesn't exist. The pace is insanely rapid and every time an entire character arc happens in 30 seconds or less it had me thinking "Wow, that would've been interesting if it was a story that developed within a 50 episode Gundam series." If there's ever a complete English translation of High Streamer, reading that might be a good way to lessen the feeling that you accidentally had the movie set to 3x speed.

Baby Driver 2017
In absolute terms just kind of an above average flick, but compared to everything else coming out in and since 2017 it's a homerun. Feels like a movie made in simpler times, free of a lot of the annoying modern trappings that movies come with now. It's refreshing to not have to worry about putting up with whatever garbage was shoved in and just being able to enjoy something.

Huge bonus from style points though, it is a movie after all and…

Black Snow 1990
Calling this "Chinese Taxi Driver" is almost appropriate, but it has a distinct overall mood that makes me want to say that wouldn't quite do it justice. Personally, it crept up on me as the film went on and I saw more and more of myself in the protagonist. Not sure how to best convey it but for me it was how he reacts to the "advice" and "kindness" offered to him, how he doesn't impose on others and intends to suffer in silence. If you've been there before, you'll see it.
