  im not necessarily opposed to watching media w/ politics i disagree with but it has the same problem as half nelson where it just feels like its a really great character study constantly being interrupted by scenes constructed entirely due to the directors need to make some sort of greater cultural point when its really unnecessary. could have been a really great film but (like half nelson) it just feels like two movies smashed together haphazardly.

  hard to argue w/ the technical skill on display here but still felt like this was basically 20 minutes too long and a little less focused than his other stuff. other than that ive got no complaints just a solid story and i v much enjoy eggers ability to make u reminisce for a different time. feels like he becomes more overtly reactionary w/ every film and i obviously approve.
